What Gifts You Were Given

When I was a youngster, I could not wait to open my gifts under the Christmas tree, especially those from Santa Claus. Since that time, I have come to realize that the best gifts giver is our Heavenly Father. These gifts are by far the most precious in that they are all wrapped in LOVE. These gifts that I have received have also been received by innumerable others throughout history and are God’s good and perfect gifts.

James 1:17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change.”

Gift of God’s Son

John 3:16 “ For God so loved the world that he gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.”

2 Corinthians 9:15 “Thanks be to God for His inexpressible gift!”

Gift of Salvation

Ephesians 2:8-9 “For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.”

This passage emphasizes that salvation is a gift from God, not something that can be earned through human effort or good works. It underscores that salvation is given by God's grace and received through faith, ensuring that no one can boast about having earned it through their own deeds. It’s a powerful reminder of the unmerited favor and love that God extends to humanity.

Gift of Eternal Life

Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Gift of Grace

2 Corinthians 9:8-9 “And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work. As it is written, “He has distributed freely, he has given to the poor; his righteousness endures forever.”

2 Corinthians 12:9-10 But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore, I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong”.

Ephesians 4:7But to each one of us grace was given according to the measure of Christ’s gift."

Gift of the Holy Spirit

Luke 11:13 “If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will the Heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!”

John 14:26 “But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, He will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you.”

Acts 2:38 “And Peter said to them, Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit”.

Romans 5:5 “…God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.”

Gifts from the Holy Spirit

1 Corinthians 12:4-7 “Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit; and there are varieties of service, but the same Lord; and there are varieties of activities, but it is the same God who empowers them all in everyone. To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good”.

Romans 12:6 “Having gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, in proportion to our faith.”

1 Peter 4:10-11 “As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God's varied grace: whoever speaks, as one who speaks oracles of God; whoever serves, as one who serves by the strength that God supplies—in order that in everything God may be glorified through Jesus Christ.”

Gift of God’s Word

2 Timothy 3:16-17All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.”

Thank You, Heavenly Father for these good and perfect gifts.
